our SF lab has a handful of desks that aren't ours. every week we hand them to people who want to build — students, researchers, engineers moonlighting on hardware, and the merely curious. monday–friday, plus sunday. saturday the floor is ours.

we vet with an ai agent that reads public sources only, and the final scoring rules are written down, not vibes. we balance each week across students, researchers, working engineers and newcomers, and we rotate — if you don't get a seat, you carry priority into the next drop automatically.
