The body

H.A.L.E. 1.0 (Human-Aligned, Life-Enhancing): a dual-arm, semi-humanoid mobile robot, designed in our San Francisco lab for the physical tasks that happen in ordinary human spaces.

Embodiment Bimanual: 6+1 degrees of freedom per arm, 2-DoF head
Payload 9 lb nominal / 15 lb peak per arm (lift-range and payload upgrades available)
Mobility Omnidirectional base; vertical lift for picking from the floor and reaching top shelves
Runtime Battery that lasts a whole workday
Sensing Cameras & LiDAR; developer units add chest and wrist depth cameras plus a second, rear LiDAR
Controls Start and stop a task at the touch of the rear screen or from the mobile app
Teleoperation VR, 3D-printable rigs, and exoskeleton; handheld gripper rigs for scaling human demos
Safety Collision avoidance, auto power cutoff, emergency stop
